SELECTION CRITERIAS FOR REGISTERED NURSE POSITION

1: Recent clinical experience in an acute health care setting
2: Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
3: Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
4: Demonstrates an understanding of the Continuous Quality Improvement concepts
5: Demonstrated understanding of person centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
6: Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and practice of consumers’ families and natural supports participating within the treatment process, as appropriate and in accordance with the NSW Mental Health ACT 2007
7: Demonstrated capacity to provide effective, evidence based, recovery orientated assessment and treatments within a community based, multi-disciplinary team.
8: Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and personal resilience.
9: Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems
10: Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
11: Demonstrated high level of communication, documentation and interpersonal skills
12: Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor less experienced staff.
13: Commitment to patient focused care
14: Willingness to comply with Unit Core Values and Above/Below Line Behaviours
15: Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and accept accountability and responsibility for own actions within the nursing profession.
16: Willingness to comply with, and participate in, all relevant quality initiatives for the unit.
17: Knowledge and experience in mental health nursing practice in a range of clinical settings
18: Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate clinical interventions and treatment packages for individual and group rehabilitation processes
19: Demonstrated positive and innovative approach to problem solving and new task development
20: Experience in the implementation of rehabilitation programs, which enhances skill development and quality of life
21: Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
22: Time management, organisational skills and the ability to work independently
23: Demonstrated understanding of the Continuous Quality Improvement concepts
