A model rocket is launched straight up from level ground. The engine of the rocket burns for about 3 seconds and is completely burned out after 4.5 seconds. Acceleration readings are made every 0.5 seconds, and are shown in Table P9.7. Positive accelerations are upward. After the engine burns out, the acceleration will be –g, the acceleration due to gravity, . Using Excel, find:
a. the maximum upward velocity
b. the maximum height of the flight
c. the time at which the rocket hits the ground
d. the speed at which the rocket hits the ground
Also, plot the acceleration, velocity, and height of the rocket versus time on three separate graphs. Note: Make sure to continue your calculations until the rocket hits the ground (height = 0).
