Part 2.1Preparation:Prepared News Story component (5%)
Each student must prepare and submit ONE (1) news story application and reflection on a company/brand associated with international marketing activities.
- Limit your news stories to 500 words max (word file).
- Submit your word file on Moodle prior to your assigned tutorials.
This written task has been set up to be checked by Turnitin, a tool for checking if it has unreferenced content. You should check your work thoroughly for originality and completeness prior to submission.

- Style and Format: Times New Roman font size 12, 1.5 spacing, 2.5cm margins
- Use Header to provide your name and student ID.
- Use a consistent style for formatting references (refer to UOW common style guidelines), and note that references should be listed in alphabetical order, based on the family name of the (first) author.
- Check spelling, grammar, punctuation, and written expression in general.

• By Tutorial Week 2, you should choose the news story topic to ensure an equal number of news story presenters for each week. Please email me your topic area by email at [email protected]

For example, if you choose topics in tutorial week 3/4 you should find news related to either of Introduction to International Marketing, International Trade, Economic environment, Cultural environment. Once topics are selected or assigned, students will need to find recent news about any company and try to relate that news to some aspects of those chapters (Cultural, economic, political, and legal environment).
Key points to cover:
o News background: Where is the news published (i.e., provide the source of the news)? Which brand/company/organisation/business is involved?, What is the news about?
o News Analysis & Reflection: Which are relevant aspects/concepts in International Marketing to the news? How does the news add to your learning of International Marketing?, How would you apply what you’ve learned?
For each news story submitted, you will receive a mark out of 5. Your mark indicates the ability to extract key information from regular news sources, apply it to academic concepts, and critically reflect.
Part 2.2Preparation: Case Studies component (15%)
Each student must prepare one case study analysis and regularly contribute to the discussions regarding the assigned case studies in relevant weeks.
- Limit your case study analysis and reflection to 1000 words (base your case study analysis on one of the case studies in weeks 1-4). Case study analysis must be submitted on Moodle assessment link.
Key points to cover:
o Case study analysis: What is the case about (i.e., summarised in 1-2 points)? What was/were the issue/s or problem/s?, How did the company solve the problem?
o Case study Reflection: Which are relevant aspects/concepts of International Marketing to the case?, How does the case add to your learning in International Marketing?, How would you apply what you’ve learned to solve the issue/s or problem/s?
