You should select a developmental stage such as prenatal development, infancy, early childhood, middle/late childhood, adolescence, young adulthood, middle-adulthood, old, older, oldest adulthood, centenarians, super-centenarian's, death, dying, bereavement. Then scan through your text in that stage and look at some topics of interest.

Week 4 Discussion
Chapters 7 and 8 post your responses here at the discussion area
For chapters 7 and 8…select a country to investigate. Do not select the United States or Canada. Duplications are not acceptable so please post early.
1. You may use Google, The CIA Factbook was just updated on August 26, 2018 and you may find some good information there, the World Health Organization, the Children's Defense Fund, or other informational sites…multidisciplinary approach…
2. Investigate any of the chapters 7 and 8 topics. For example, nutrition, play, media, screen time, illness, death/mortality rates, play, parenting, abuse, early childhood education, moral development, preoperational stage, Vygotsky and other chapter 7 and 8 topics. What we are investigating is….what is it like to be an early childhood child in your country?
Next, You must locate a scholarly journal article, one with participants, from your country. I would type in your country name and then early childhood and see what pops up.
Read your article and IN YOUR OWN WORDS POST:
1. Explain what the authors were investigating…found in the introduction section
2. What was the purpose of their study…found in the introduction section
3. What did the researchers hope to show…found in the introduction section
4. What was their hypothesis…found at the end of the introductions section
5. Who were their study participants? Where did they come from? Did they receive any benefit for participation? found in the methods section
6. What was expected of them? Did they complete interviews, surveys, in-depth/clinical interviews, standardized tests, what did they do? found in the methods section
7. Explain the outcome of the study. Found in the discussion section.
You must answer all seven questions in order to receive points for this post.
If you would like to comment on the statistical applications mentioned in the results section please do so.
DO NOT, DO NOT CUT AND PASTE THE ABSTRACT AND PLACE IT IN DISCUSSION BOARD…That would be plagiarism.
What you will learn as you look for information on your selected country of investigation is that the research will dictate which of the topics you will be able to discuss. For example, if I decided to investigate the country of Brunei, (Negara Brunei Darussalam), I would not find as much information on early childhood as I would if I investigated Germany. Again, the research will dictate which topics you will be able to discuss. I understand that and am prepared for it in terms of your reporting. Let me know if you have any other questions please…

Write-up your interview and create a summary and post both here, the interview and the summary. No need to post question and answer, rather a running dialog.
Week 9 Discussion
Chapter 19 discusses various socio-emotional theories of development and aging. We know that older adults have a desire to be involved in their community. We also know that older adults have much to offer in terms of their skills, talents and abilities. We acknowledge that some of our older adults, our 85 plus individuals may have some physical constraints and that locating volunteering opportunities may be unavailable due to those physical constraints.
Search your community, your state, or a different country and locate a volunteer opportunity for older adults that will accommodate some of the physical constraints that the elderly adult may be experiencing. For examples, are there opportunities for transportation for me? Are there hearing enhancements for me if I am in need? What about my need to be on oxygen?
I am not interested in being on the phone or staying home and making cards or knitting…I would like to be with people and interact. I have had all of my necessary shots/vaccinations and I have a cleared background check. What is available for me? Search and write about what you find. 8-10 sentences please
Chapter 20
Investigate the oldest old, death and dying in another country. No duplications please so claim your country before you begin the investigation. How are the elderly cared for in your country? Are there nursing homes or elder care facilities? Who pays for elder care? Are older adults in the workforce? Do older adults care for the young children?
What are the death and dying rituals in your country of investigation? Detail what you find. This chapter should be at least three paragraphs long.
