This module/week discusses cultural diversity, its influences on learning, and the responses of an effective teacher embarrassing diversity. Educational responses to diversity have changed over time. Gender differences, multicultural education, developmental difference, learning styles, and exceptionalities can be a part of each teaching experience. This assignment also addresses the outcomes of societal changes on school and students which ultimately alter a teacher’s role.
How will you recognize and address diversity in your classroom? The video lesson evaluation gives you an opportunity to practice by viewing and evaluating a classroom teacher.
1. You will choose 1 of the 2 provided videos from week 2 Reading and Study folder of a teacher in the classroom
2. Watch the lesson in its entirety and reflect on/evaluate the teacher and the lesson he/she is conducting.
3. Using the Video Lesson Evaluation Template, answer the provided questions providing a minimum of 30 words per question prompt in paragraph form.
a. The answer should provide a detailed description of the teacher’s execution of the different components of the lesson.
b. Keywords such as since, because, through, using, etc. were used throughout the document to explain how various competencies were met.
c. For the questions addressing the strengths and weaknesses, provide 3 or more ideas for improvement in the effectiveness of the lesson presentation or provide suggestions for different ways to accomplish the lesson.
Submit the Video Lesson Evaluation by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of Module/Week 2.
