Part I – Upgrading to Windows 7
As the new Information System Manager of a mid-size business which is running Windows XP on their computers, you need to decide whether or not you should upgrade your operating system upgrade to Windows 7. Briefly describe some of the possible advantages and disadvantages of implementing this upgrade. Include in your discussion some of the new features of Windows 7. Include three screen captures that represent the operating system you choose to use.
Part II – Folder Hierarchy
Discuss the importance of understanding the hierarchy of their computer’s drives, folders, and files. Why is understanding this hierarchy important? How will it benefit them in their daily computer use? The discussion should include the overall structure of their folders, the relationship between those folders, and the relationship between components of a computer system.
Part III – Customizing your OS
Explain what customization options and new configurations will you apply to your computers after the upgrade. Experiment with the themes, color schemes, taskbar colors, customizing the elements of the graphical user interface, and the desktop. For example you can choose from a variety of built-in themes or create your own theme. Which theme do you prefer and why?
Explain why and how you would customize the mouse properties, in order to help employees to work more effectively and make the mouse more accessible and easier to use.
