Tourism destinations, which encompass multiple hospitality products, are highly susceptible to crises and disasters. While these negative events have the ability to weaken or destroy a competitive advantage of tourism destinations, proper planning reduces the likelihood of occurrence and severity of crises.

In this assessment, you are required to conduct a critical analysis of a designated tourism destination and based on this analysis.

  3. Crises and their impact on ‘pull’ factors – A table showing specific crises that affected the destination since the beginning of the new millennium, and their impact on the identified by you (under point 2) ‘pull’ factors.     (approximately 500 words)
  4. Key vulnerabilities – Brief summary about the impact of crises on the destination – e.g. specific vulnerabilities that were found at the destination and which must be addressed in future planning (approximately 200 words)
