ULO1: Explain and apply the business intelligence
(BI) lifecycle concept, BI-based business performance management, and multidimensionality concept.
ULO2: Appraise and apply data warehousing architecture, technologies and development methodologies for business intelligence.
GLO1: Discipline-specific knowledge and capabilities
– students are required to demonstrate an
understanding of the business intelligence context and explain the BI technologies and associated implementation issues.
GLO3: Digital Literacy – students are required to apply BI technologies to find, use and disseminate actionable information
In this individual assignment, each individual student will write a research report on the benefits
and applications of business intelligence technologies. Students will conduct comprehensive
literature review of academic articles as well as white papers and summarise the research findings
in a short research paper format.
Report guidelines
[1] The body of the report should contain ‘Table of Content’, logically organised sections, and ‘List of references’.
[2] Include section Headings/sub-headings and Tables for your report, E.g.:

2. Summary of BI Benefits
2.1 Strategic Benefits & Summary Table

3. BI Applications in different sectors & Summary Table

[3] For this assignment, the length of the assignment includes everything (e.g. Table of content and References list).
[4] Students should use Google Scholar and academic databases (e.g. Scopus, IEEE, ACM) for this research assignment.
[5] Reports should be written in Microsoft Word and submitted as a Word file (saved as yourfirst_lastname.docx; no pdf please so that the marker can comment on it).
