Task:
The Denby Social Club is a Social Club which provides a place for the residents of Denby to meet, socialise and play sport. This organisation is a not for profit business which has been successfully operating for 30 years. In the last five years The Denby Social Club has seen an increase in the costs of food, drink and other running costs. The Club has therefore had to try to reduce the costs associated with its operations and has done this by reducing the number of paid employees that work within the Club. This has meant that there has been a reduction in the number of hours that the Club can be open each day. In addition to reducing the number of paid employees the Club has started to charge an additional fee to members who wish to use the sports facilities. By charging an additional fee to members for usage of the sports facilities the Club is able to cover some of the costs associated with running the Club. The Club also charges an annual membership to each member as well as selling food and drink to members when they are at the club.
For the last two years the financial results of the business are shown below. Inflation within the country in which The Denby Social Club operates is around 2% per year.
