What does it mean to be a writer in the 21st century? You are welcome to build off of Yancey’s ideas
from “Writing in the 21st Century” or to make a more original claim. Your main claim should be
the last sentence of your introduction.
Then, each body paragraph should begin with a supporting claim that explores, explains, or
defends that main claim.
After carefully considering the rhetorical situation and your own motivation, write a 1000-1500 word op-ed essay. That is, given everything that you have read and
discussed, what do you want to say about writing constructs?
Please build the ideas off of the Yancey article and the shorter essay that I will upload, but you are free to explore other ideas.
