Why did the authors say it was difficult to assess criterion validity for public health systems? The Student Life Department of North East University has decided that in order to better support new students they will give all incoming freshman a survey about what kind of support they have in their lives to help them with the transition from being a high school student living at home with their parents to a college student living on campus. The university hopes that scores from the test will help reveal students who may need extra support. Brad Johnson, the director of Student Life, does some searching at the library and finds four different measures of social support: the Miller Support and Affection Scale, the Latino Community Social Support Inventory, the Young Adult Social Support Scale, and the Cancer Social Support Scale.
