Jeff Johnson retired from his engineering job, saying that he would be happy doing nothing for the first time in his life. Within 6 months, he was so restless that his wife, Janice, encouraged him to seek out new horizons. One afternoon, a 12-year-old neighbor boy was frustrated while working on his bicycle brakes. Jeff gave him a hand and soon repaired the brakes. He began to help other children in the neighborhood repair their bicycles. It was so interesting that he began to watch for old broken bicycles; soon, he had a garage full of bikes to recondition. It wasn’t long before he had a thriving bicycle-repair business.
