Assessment Weighting
This assignment represents 75% of the module overall mark.
The task: Answer all three questions below using the Vestas Case study available on BB. You are expected to read more about the case from material available in public domain. Please ensure that you start the answer to each question on a new page.
Answers should be between 900 and 1100 words per question and not more than 3000 words in total (excluding references and appendices), typed and in an essay format. All questions have equal weighting.
Question 1: Discuss what went wrong in terms of stakeholder management in the case study. Using your own analysis of the case study and material found in the literature, what would be your recommendation to improve the current situation with the stakeholders, particularly, the indigenous community?
Question 2: Discuss the communication challenges of managing international projects with particular reference to the case. Using your own analysis of the case study and material found in the literature, discuss the negotiation patterns used by the different parties in the case study and how negotiations as a special communication situation could have been more effective from Vestas perspective.
Question 3: Discuss what type of leadership style would be most appropriate in the context of the Vestas project in Mexico. Using your own analysis of the case study and material found in the literature, discuss the importance of trust in international projects with particular reference to the situation in the case study between Vestas on one hand and the local stakeholders including the indigenous communities on the other hand.
