Assignment: Write a well-developed essay fully responding to the topic. Please place your thesis statement at the end of the first paragraph. You must use MLA format for both the essay and works cited page. (Everyone will have identical sources on the works cited page). Select two or three sub-points (I suggest using a Venn Diagram) to expand into an effective essay. You must provide from 1 to 3 short in-text quotes from the textbook readings.
Topic: In this essay you will discuss the similarities, differences, or both in the textbook readings by Douglass and Malcolm X in 50 Essays. Please analyze what the authors say in their writings to develop your main points about these readings. You must support your points with quotes from the readings.
REMEMBER “I” statements and personal opinions should NOT be used until the concluding paragraph(s). The conclusion is also where you can give opinions, comments, and any connections you have to the materials. Avoid using the word “you” as 2nd person Point of View.
