Going, Going, Green With the emphasis on reducing our carbon footprint, many companies and research groups are attempting to develop technologies that will reduce the amount of energy used by networks. One such idea is presented in this chapter. Using a search engine, locate at least two other research projects that are attempting to reduce the amount of energy consumed by computer networks. Cite the source of your research, specifythe name of the company developing the technology or the name of the research project, and describe the method(s) the group is trying to implement to create the reduction or control of energy use, the target date for completion, and the estimated amount of reduced energy consumption attributed to the project. Present your findings in a one-page, double-spaced paper or a PowerPoint presentation of at least eight slides.
