1. Introduction The Future Fuels Cooperative Research Centre, known as FFCRC is a social enterprise in the energy sector. Social enterprises are entities that possess specific social objectives to serve a primary purpose. These enterprises provide goods and services to its consumers with an aim to provide benefits to the society and community through its business processes (Defourny & Nyssens, 2010). With the increasing relevance of decarbonisation to combat climate change and global warming in the 21st century, FFCRC serves as an industry focussed Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) partnership with a primary objective of enabling the decarbonisation of Australia’s energy networks. (FFCRC, 2021). FFCRC serves to be a bridge between the energy industry, academia and government organisations to develop and advance the ecosystem of low-carbon future fuels such as hydrogen and biogas in Australia and other parts of the world. This report aims to identify the challenges that FFCRC would face, as well as the various causes behind them. 2. Macro Environment Analysis 2.1 PESTLE Analysis (a) Political Climate change in Australia has been a prevalent issue since the start of the 21st century. The country is becoming hotter, leading to increased incidences of wild fires, heatwaves, cyclones, rising sea levels as well as erosion.
