The company has good H&S standards. Unfortunately, supervisors noticed that the fortnightly toolbox talks, though well attended by the bricklayers, were not acted upon and workers had lost interest in them. There was a need to develop a sense of shared responsibility for H&S between leader and worker. The company purchased some picture-based scenarios as a starting point and developed a fresh programme of toolbox talks involving:
– consulting with bricklayers to identify what they saw as the top five risks in relation to accidents and ill health in.
– using tablets to make the toolbox scenarios more interactive and accessible.
– delivering the talks more interactively.
