Suppose you are a contestant on the game show Let’s Make a Deal. The emcee, Monty Hall, shows you three doors and explains there is a pink pig behind two of the doors and a brand new luxurious car behind the third door. You select a door. Monty Hall (who knows what is behind each door) opens one of the other doors that has a pink pig behind it. He then asks you if you would like to keep your door or switch to the other door. Is one strategy better than the other? Question #2: In this game there are 3 cards. One card is green on both sides. One is red on both sides. The third card is green on one side and red on the other side. I shuffle the cards and place one card face down in front of you. The side that is showing is red. What is the probability that the other side is red?
