Reflection
Students are required to reflect on the experience of carrying out their project both during the OD process (in practice) and on completion of their project (about practice). The reflection ‘in practice’ should focus on the experience, feeling, thoughts and emotions during the OD process. This should be recorded on a regular basis throughout the year. The eportfolio can be used to assist the student in this process (eportfolio.rcsileadership.org). The reflection ‘on practice’ should focus on the learning that has taken place once the project has been completed. The reflection (cycle) provides an opportunity to reflect on the experience and learning that has taken place while carrying out the organisational development. Students are required to select an appropriate reflective model to help structure their reflections (such as Gibbs’, Kolb, Rolfe). Resources to help guide students in the use of reflection are available on the VLE.
Students are required to:
1. submit a 1200 word reflection ‘on practice’ during the project that draws on their reflections ‘in practice’.
2. submit five reflections ‘in practice’ in an appendix of the reflection (note that this is not included as part of the word count). …….
