Your company has been awarded with a contract to build a dam across a river flowing through a gorge in Sarawak. The width of the top section varies from 100 m to 150 m. The river is situated between 80 m to 100 m below from the top of the gorge. The surveys indicated various profiles for the gorge cross sections as shown in the FIGURE Q1.
Assuming for each 3 cross sections the width and the depth are the same, propose the suitable height of the dam and carry out detail hydrostatic analysis of the dam. State the criteria of the best design and the final proposal shall recommend the best location of the dam based on the detail analys
