Description of Task
Huawei, based in China, are looking at expanding some aspects of their overseas operations into: Chile, Australia and Norway. You have been asked by Huawei to provide advice on how best to handle the cultural differences that may arise during this process.
Part A; (Approx. 600 to 700 words)
Construct a table to present your information to Huawei using Hofstede’s five dimensions of culture. You must use your own words. (see suggested / possible table on LMS):
- A brief but concise description of the cultural profiles for the following countries: China, Chile, Australia and Norway, and
- A brief but concise description of what Hofstede is implying (meaning, describing, defining) for each of the five cultural dimensions (Power, Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism/Collectivism, Masculinity/Femineity, and Long/Short Term Orientation), and
- Similarities and differences review of Chile, Australia and Norway as compared to China– at least three similarities and three differences need to be shown in total for each country when compared to China.
Part B (Approx. 400 to 500 words)
Present in a report form at least three (3) to maximum of five (5) recommendations to Huawei, on negotiating and implementing their expansion into Chile.
You must focus on Hofstede’s cultural dimensions and your analysis from your table above to support your recommendations.

Part B: Prepare and present a professional business report addressed to one or more of Huawei senior management with your recommendations and suitably referenced / cited. (400 to 500 words)
