Brown 7.2
My organization is Mosaic, which is a nonprofit organization that advocates and provides day, residential, and employment services to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Timeline events in the first quarter will include:
- Recruit US Government teacher and Disability Rights Nebraska representative
- Recruit volunteers including clients, guardians, and other stakeholders
- Identify key staff to assist
- Make flyers/announcements to notify individuals and guardians of program development to generate interest
- Begin curriculum development
The program will serve individuals with intellectual and/or development disabilities currently attending Mosaic day, residential, or employment services. The goal is to include 20 individuals per session and have a total of three sessions during the first year (must keep number relatively small to allow for appropriate staff support). If the program proves successful, it may be worthwhile to consider opening the curriculum to individuals with IDD outside of Mosaic’s programs – this would obviously require additional grant funding or another form of sustainable funding.

7.2a– The two activities that will be completed will be training of the staff that will include monitoring the use of the computer games for the purpose of learning. Secondly, there would be implementation and setup of the devices stage on site. In that phase, the organization legal or human resources department with the seller’s technician will work with both consumers and staffs through the rules and regulation that bound the use of the devices.
7.2b– The population served is twenty youths of Safe Humane Chicago that are recently out of detention from the neighboring communities in Chicago city.
