You are required to write an essay which should not be longer than 3,000 words +/- 10% (excluding references, tables, graphs and illustrations). The essay should be word processed and submitted online through CANVAS.
The assessment of the essay is based on the School essay assessment criteria. Please study the criteria carefully before you write your essay, and consult it regularly while you are writing. In particular, essays should concentrate on argument and analysis rather than description and built on the material discussed in class. Make sure that you reference properly all the material used in your essay. Please proof-read your essay before submitting it and make sure you use appropriate Harvard referencing.
Objectives of the essay/task
In doing so, it is recommended that you discuss what a knowledge city is and what the academic literature says about this concept and how it can be applied in real life by comparing and contrast two case studies examples of so called knowledge cities. You should also use a mix of key academic theories and concepts discussed in the course as well as with policy and consultancy documents to frame your analysis in a critical way.
