A detailed Individualized Educational Plan
Based on out of class assignment on observing a children with learning difficulties and preparing an Individual Educational Plan (IEP)
- The Individualized Educational Plan
The module is assessed through a 2500 word written assignment focused on practice, as follows:
‘Produce an IEP of a child with learning difficulties as part of carrying out a case study based on observations of a child’s learning in the classroom. Analyse your observation with a view to identifying the pupil’s strengths and needs and make recommendations for future teaching within the classroom context. You might include recommendations about learning styles, teaching approaches, a responsive curriculum and/or organisation for learning. You should underpin your IEP elements with a critical analysis of relevant literature’.
It will be possible for students to submit a draft to their tutor for comments and feedback before the submission date. This is to help students to meet the requirements for academic writing.

We have to check first if the child has an IEP if the child has we See how effective
If the child has an IEP plan we should also create a new IEP plan for him and we can compare the new with old one, we can add new targets and goals of the child
If the child does not have an IEP we must create a one for him
from my observation in the school the kids does not have an IEP plan so we need to create a new IEP plan include Long and short term target
We will focus on the strength of the child
We should write how the school give the child the task, is it in the class, one to one or pull out class
How long the break dose the child take after each task for example working 10 min – 2 min break
Before we start crating IEP plan we have to see the IQ level of the child if the school has it we ask for it
For example the school used cat 4 to asset the children level.
