People in community, especially due to COVID-19, have become cautious about hygiene and safety. However, it has been found that COVID-19 has mostly been able to influence the common people to wear masks. Masks are visible and people learn from each other. Hand hygiene, such as washing hands with soap and water, using hand sanitisation to disinfect the hands is also an extremely important part to prevent spread of corona virus. As stated in the report of WHO (2020), it is extremely important for people to give equal importance to hand hygiene practises as virus can enter our body through mouths, nose and ears which are frequently touched by our hands. However, it has been found that most people are involved in using masks than actively implementing hand hygiene. Hand hygiene is effective in reducing the risks of the spread of infectious germs and viruses (Fox et al., 2015). Infection control is a major concern during this time and it has been proved earlier as well that hand hygiene is a crucial part of controlling the spread of infections, especially virus and germs that are communal spread. In recent studies it has been stated that hand hygiene is an important practise to reduce the risks of spreading and getting infected from corona virus (Poole et al., 2020).
