Based on Jonathan Wolff (2016) Chapter 1, and David Miller (2003) Chapter 2, (i) formulate a debate between the anarchists on one side, and Hobbes, Locke, and Rousseau on the other side, so that both sides disagree with one another over the necessity of the state. (ii) Explain which side in general is more convincing to you. While Anarchists believe that human nature are naturally good, they do highly co- operated when they are perfected. Hobbes, Locke, and Rousseau believe human beings are ought to seek peace, no one ought to harm another’s life and they are naturally sympathetic to others. Yet, Hobbes would argue that human beings do highly co-operated, they also do competition and exploitation, while both actions are rational (Hobbes, 1968).
