Assignment:

Using the case on the “Multinationals…Before 1914” and the readings, please prepare a 5-minute formal presentation: A formal presentation is one where you have prepared PowerPoint slides to use in your presentation and you should send these to me before the class on Monday.

Please be prepared to make a formal 5-minute presentation for in class on the following:

Compare Globalization before 1914 and Globalization today (2017).

As part of your analysis you should define “What is globalization?” and identify “What forces/factors drive globalization and what are the effects/implications of the globalization process for you personally and as a manager in an organizations and for national social/economic systems?”

The “First Global Economy” ended in 1914. You should also consider if the current globalization process could be reversed/ended; that is, “What are the factors that inhibit globalization? What would it take to reverse globalization and what would that mean to you personally and as a manager, if globalization is reversed?”

It will help if you can contrast globalization today with globalization in the period prior to 1914 for similarities and differences.
