Jack spent the night in a hotel that had a reputation for being haunted. He slept in the very room (number 666) in which a horrible murder had been committed in the 1930s. He fell asleep thinking about the crime. At 3:00 a.m. he awoke to see the apparition of a man sitting at the foot of his bed.
1. Jacques lived in a house built back in the 1940s which was now in disrepair. As he sat reading in the parlor, he heard creaking sounds coming from upstairs.
