For our final revised essay assignment, you’re going to develop an argument using support from our course readings to construct another argument. For this essay I want you to develop an argument concerning the importance of diversity in our culture (in your educated opinion). For example, you might argue that “Diversity leads to innovation” or “Diversity causes significant problems.” In order to prove this thesis, you’ll need to do some research on the subject, however. Consider your own position on the subject. How do you feel about diversity? ¡ï Begin thinking about how the authors relate to one another. Do they agree? Do they disagree? ¡ï Consider whether the authors are able to successfully challenge your existing position through their own arguments. In order to prove your thesis, you will use information from at least four articles. While our first essay allowed you to discuss your own personal experience, the body of this essay is entirely about information in your readings. The only place you may use personal information is the introduction to your topic (first paragraph or so).
