A compressor takes in air at atmospheric pressure (100 kPa) and discharges the compressed air into a large, high-pressure settling tank. To measure the mass flow rate of the compressed air as a function of the compression pressure, an engineer connects a converging nozzle to the settling tank. The exit area of the nozzle is 20 × 10−4 m2. In a test series with different flow rates, the following gage pressures were measured in the settling tank: 110, 160, 250, 400, and 600 kPa. For all tests, the temperature in the settling tank was approximately 350 K. Find the corresponding mass flow rates for each pressure.
