Who would you focus it on–other providers in the form of a CE or presentation? patients & families? maybe general nursing staff ? Is there any evidence to support booklets as a means of education? Will you develop it or use a pre-fab one readily available? What makes you think they haven’t had that already? I am not being critical, just giving you items to consider. I will tell you that I used to teach community health, & for the student project that began will hand out a booklet or pamphlet”, we we didn’t allow. You are a nurse leader. You need to plan a project, start to finish, including how you might procure funding, how much might you need financially? How long would it take to get it up & running? How much help you require, staff wise & otherwise? how will you evaluate success? You will need nursing literature to support your method.
In the ref list I note you are heavy on non nursing literature, seeming to rely on med literature, which won’t help you. the CDC stuff or other items strictly for stats is ok, if you make sure you have nursing literature in sections required.
This is going to be put forth in your community, so you would need to find state stats to make it relevant. For ex, national stats on smoking wouldn’t mean a much here in Ky in regards to a stop smoking project, because we are above the national avg. You might read national stats for DM, & chronic disease management, but it not be relevant if you live in Utah or some state where folks are healthier. So your stats need to reflect where you are as much as poss. the imperfect management is the issue, not the disease itself, if that makes sense. a booklet won’t mean anything if people can’t afford meds, proper food, etc. you need to figure out what is blocking proper management–you seem to be assuming it is a deficit of knowledge, which may/may not be the case.
This is not to criticize you in particular–this is commonly seen in student papers–work on critical thinking . read the info and pick through it, apply it to what you will be developing. Hope this helps, Dr. H
