This small – medium sized organisation has been affected by unpredicted and significant external threats that require both immediate actions, and signal the probability that new directions will be needed. Examples of threats include rapid lock-downs due to the COVID pandemic, cyber attacks, natural disaster in the local area, changes in international customer country’s tariffs. (Identify one major threat)
The threats have implications for the financial and social sustainability of the organisation and its staff. Many staff have been with the company for over 10 years. You are the leader of a successful project which involves 12 staff and 3 contractors and is partially complete.
Senior management has informed you that your project timeline has been reduced, and the budget cut by 15%. You also have some new ideas that you think would help the company open up new directions.
Task
Explain and justify the approaches you would take to;
- manage your team and achieve the project’s goals, and
- build support for new initiatives within the company and address obstacles.
