Every 4 years the United States national Intelligence Council publishes Global Trends (https://www.dnl.gov/index.php/global-trends-home), an unclassified strategic assessment of how key trends and uncertainties might shape the world over the next 20 years.  This report is designed to help senior US leaders assess risks and opportunities and to develop long term national strategies.  In the latest Global Trends report, the Office of the National Director of Intelligence identified three scenarios for the distant future: islands, orbits, and communities

Assume that you are a member of the National Security Council staff and must provide recommendations on these possible futures.

1. First, which of these do you believe is more likely and why?

2.  Second, how can the United States navigates this trend? What instruments of national power will be most vital to achieving American goals for the future?

3.  Third, explain which international relations (IR) perspectives(s) (realism, liberalism and constructivism) informed your decision and why
