The project is about how to describe the information of 74 mental healthcare service areas in Catalonia (Spain) to guide the benchmark analysis by the health experts based on the following main questions:
What are the criteria that need to be incorporated, by considering the distribution of indicators, in the data analysis?
What types of relationship exist between indicators? (e.g. Are outlier areas in an indicator also outliers in other indicators?)
How are the service areas clustered according to different inputs and outputs?
Develop a system based on the following tasks to enable users to apply scenarios where they group service areas and indicators (refer to the given paper of Fernandez, 2015). [Option 1 or 2 for Task A and B]
Exploratory descriptive analysis
Geographical map visualization+
1. Provide geographical region (service areas) information based on indicators e.g., present the value of a selected indicator across regions (service areas)
2. Complement visualisation 1 with another descriptive visualization based on regions (simpler) e.g. 1 – display the summary of a selected service areas
e.g. 2 – display average values of selected indicators for all service areas in a certain region
Exploratory pattern analysis
Option 2: Provide geographical pattern information of input and output indicators of “service areas” (e.g. hot/cold spot analysis)
Interactivity guides:
Allow users to choose service areas and indicators to make up of your graphs for specific comparisons
Must clearly display measure units in your visualisations for a better interpretation
Examples: colouring, brushing, highlighting, hovering, selecting, symbolling, dragging, zooming, sizing, weighting, left/right clicking, etc.
