Understanding and Managing People: Professional Development Plan & Review
One of the major themes running throughout this module is the importance of continuous professional development that enables students to excel in their academic study and enhance their employability prospects at the end of the programme. Due to its focus on the development of key management skills, the assignment involve developing a professional development plan and working toward the attainment of this plan over the duration of the programme.
The written essay has three distinct elements. The first element is your Plan for Professional Development or skill building. The skills you intend to develop should include both strengths you intend to build on and weaknesses for which you wish to compensate or improve. The second element of the assignment is a Progress Review that provides an evaluation of your achievement toward each of your professions developmental goals and a reflection on your learning experience accompanied with a portfolio of evidence contained in an appendix to demonstrate progression. Finally, the essay should conclude with a Long-term Plan of Action that sets out your future development goals.
This assignment is level 4 Higher education and will gain higher marks for extensive use of citations and presentation of ideas. Discussions relating to organizational behaviour concepts and theories demonstrate knowledge and understanding alongside a high and consistent level of application evidencing the ability to develop critical and analytical approaches. The essay should include extensive research, outline the main concepts and demonstrate clear analysis and appreciation of elements of UMP related to Personal Development Plans. Additionally this assignment should develop your skills as a reflective practitioner which will be required across all modules at both level 4 & level 5.
