2. an abstract
Your paper should include an abstract. Here is a resource link which will assist you in creating your paper’s abstract:
Purdue OWL (2015). Abstract. Retrieved from https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/
3. five to seven edited pages, double spaced with parenthetical references (Use APA formatting),
4. and a list of your sources (a works cited page or a bibliography) formatted using APA formatting. At least seven references are required for this paper. Please use at least one Internet source and one hardcopy source (a book or journal article, for example) in your paper.
References need to be scholarly as opposed to dotcom websites. Wikipedia is not a scholarly source. Try Google Scholar or the Park Virtual Library.
NOTE: The abstract and the bibliography DO NOT count towards your page count.
Grading Rubric for the Paper
Requirements:
What am I looking for in a paper?I will grade based on content, organization, readability, and grammatical correctness.
Content includes your ideas as well as your research.
Organization includes external transitions (section to section) and internal transitions (paragraph to paragraph and sentence to sentence).
Readability means how well the paper flows. Avoid wordiness and the passive voice. Don’t start your sentences with “it is” or “there are.”
Grammatical correctness includes spelling and other grammar errors including subject-verb agreement. Use of APA style for citation and formatting will be expected.
Point Distribution: Your grade will be reported to you in the number of points you earned. To figure out your letter grade, take the number of points and divide it by 200. For example, 180 points divided by 200 = .9 which is an A.
