Directions:

1. Write a 1,000-1,250-word paper comparing the following collaboration and motivation theories. Include the following in your paper:
2. Summarize each of the theories of Elliott Aronson’s Jigsaw based collaboration learning and Keller’s ARCS model of motivation.
3. Compare the theories. THIS INCLUDES A COMPARISON/CONTRAST SECTION USING BOTH THEORIES
4. Propose how the theories can be applied when using social media technology in a university learning setting.
5. Use a minimum of 5 peer reviewed references.

*** The assignment asks for comparisons between the theories presented, not simply the overall ideas of collaboration and motivation.  Finally, the theories of collaboration and motivation (Elliott Aronson’s Jigsaw based collaboration learning and Keller’s ARCS model of motivation) need to be directly applied via technology.  For example, one could describe how using social media concepts can foster these chosen theories of motivation and collaboration.
