This assessment is designed to allow you to practice your research skills in compiling a SWOT analysis, underpinned by an environmental scan (PESTEL analysis). Students will demonstrate mastery of the SWOT analysis framework by analysing a real-world, current issue. This assessment evaluates your understanding of early unit content. Scenario: The University of Canberra has committed to a new campus development project, ‘The Campus of the Future’. By 2030, UC aims to deliver a new model of community in action. The campus development includes a health precinct and a residential community of over 3,300 residences. Instructions: Students will be required to compile a SWOT analysis on an issue, which needs to be underpinned by a comprehensive research strategy and environmental scan. The assessment should include; • An introduction to the organisation and issue (approximately one paragraph) • At least 3 points to each quadrant. A paragraph is provided for each point which explains and justifies the inclusion of the point in the analysis • At least 2 overall recommendations for the organisation. These recommendations should be made from the SWOT analysis (approximately 2-3 paragraphs) • References should include min. 10 references (70% academic + 30% non-academic references).
