Compensation Structures and Strategic Planning
Using newspapers, trade press publications, or other sources, locate a current example in which an organization’s compensation strategy or policy was ineffectively designed or otherwise inappropriate. Examples might revolve around pay secrecy, weak performance-bonus links, or paying overlapping incentives. Write a 1- to 2-page paper in which you explain the origins and reasoning behind the compensation policy, and then answer the following questions:
What negative effects did the company suffer as a result? How could the compensation strategy have been more properly planned or structured and how would that have mitigated the negative effects?
