Guidance on using examples
• Reference the examples and add to the bibliography as you would any other source. You can use ibid. to indicate that it is the same sources as before. Refer the reader to page and activity number.
Example:
The first vocabulary activity (Tilbury et. Al. p.47, activity 5) focusses on… In contrast the next vocabulary section (ibid. p.47, activities 1 & 2) …
• You must use at least ONE example from the provided materials for EACH of the topic pairs you choose (i.e. two in total). You may not be able to find example in this unit for everything but you should certainly be able to find an example for one of the choices in each pair.
• You must not use examples from other class materials.
• You can invent your own examples.
• You can find examples from other course books etc. or online but you must include a copy with your essay (scan and paste into your electronic copy) or a URL link so that the reader can access the material you are referring to.
