This course requires a course research paper. Students will be required to submit a no less than 10 and no more than 12-page (double-spaced) paper. The paper must be the student’s original work, be properly sourced and documented and include both a bibliography and properly cited sources. There are two (2) options for the course research paper. The course research paper is worth 250 points, or 25% of your final grade.
- Option-1: Students will choose a Fortune-500 company and complete analysis of to determine if that organization is (or is not) meeting its corporate social responsibility obligations.
- Option-2: Students will complete an in-depth analysis of one of the topics covered in the course. Possible topics can include, but are not limited to, sustainability, businesses impact on global warming/the environment, impacts of lobbying efforts, truth in advertising, the relationship between government and business, the affordable health care act (or the impact of other legislative/regulatory efforts), globalization etc. In your paper, you will analyze the major issues, positions and arguments associated with the topic, identify the strengths and weaknesses of each position, discuss possible solutions and then make recommendations on how to implement these solutions.
