Task: Assessment 3 consists of analytical problems that students need to solve and comment on individually. These problems have been designed to assess the students’ capability in solving real world supply chain management problems. The maximum length of report shall be 4000 words including reference.

This task involves two parts.

Part 1–  (e.g. distribution related problem, procurement related problem, supply chain sustainability related problem, information related problem, or issues such as additive manufacturing, 3D printing, IoT, cloud computing, blockchain etc.) of a company or a number of companies (a number of companies may face similar problem for example many companies face problem with supply chain sustainability from their supplier side) and develop a report following HBR article style writing (sample HBR article uploaded) (30 marks).

Assignment Submission structure:

For part 1 the assignment structure should be as follows:

1. Executive Summary
2. Content, analysis etc of the Case study
3. Recommendations, conclusion and managerial Implications
4. References and Appendices, if any

For Part 1 of assessment 3 please follow HBR article format as you will be judged on the 5 criteria’s listed above.

Assignment Submission format:

• Use Font 12 Calibri with single line spacing and submit the Microsoft Word file only.
• Max word count is 4000 words inclusive of references.
• For the assessment follow HBR level of academic rigour as per HBR wesbite.
• Your focus should be on SSCM components e.g. network design, warehousing, distribution, logistics, sourcing, risk management, sustainability, use of emerging technology etc into your analysis.
• You can select a specific industry and build your argument around it. Examples of industries could be automotive, aerospace, biomedical, tourism, fashion, apparel manufacturing, resource sector, etc. or you can base your essay on SSCM general industry trends or a recent industry topic as long as it is topical and contemporary.

Individual Presentation Marking Criteria:

A good professional presentation is short, interesting, and delivered without notes or use of palm cards. You might like to consider the following as you set up the slides for your presentation.

• Your presentation should take a max of 7 minutes inclusive of Q&A.
• Assessment marking criteria for the presentation includes your timely presence and attendance in class, your in-depth preparation of the topic prior to coming to class, use of innovative and creative techniques when facilitating and a quality discussion with evidence that the discussion was well structured including counter perspectives and led in an equitable, respectful and informed involvement by all participants, and using content sourced from other sources.
