COIT20250: Emerging Technologies in e-Business
Assessment 1: Week 5 Group Discussion
The emerging technology for Week 5 group discussion is Blockchain. The group discussion carries 8 marks.
You will need to conduct a brief research on the given emerging technology at home and collaboratively write a brief report on the research findings. In the Week 5 Zoom tutorial session, you will jointly present your research findings. Also you will submit the report as a Microsoft Word file to the Moodle unit site Wednesday 11:45 PM of Week 5 regardless of what day the tutorial is taking place. Only one member of each group should upload the written report to Moodle.
The report will briefly illustrate the underlying designs, working principles, functions, capabilities, utilities, impacts, advantages and disadvantages, and current and future applications of the given emerging technology in e-business.
The length of the report should be around 300 words. You don’t need to follow a standard report structure, just you need to summarise the key findings of your research. You are required to review at least 5 resources (including at least two academic resources) relevant to the topic of discussion. You will also need to provide a reference list and in-text references for those resources. Your report must have a Cover page (Student names, Student Ids, Unit Id, Campus, and Tutor name).
Important: Students who are not part of a group will not be able to access the submission link for Week 5 Group Discussion and will receive zero marks in this assessment item.
Please note: You are urged to join the Zoom tutorial session on time so that you have enough time to present your findings. Failure to attend the tutorial session will result in zero marks for the group discussion unless there is an acceptable reason to do so. Students having an acceptable reason for absence will have to apply for an extension (via Moodle) and complete the unfinished task individually (on a different topic) between Weeks 9-12.
