Final Case study – Google’s Acquisition of Motorola Mobility
This is a 5 pages (double space) case study and the requirements are the following:
1. Introduction – (0.5 page)
This should come from the case study and includes the company background, mentioned below topics on the review/analysis of the case. Also, note that there are a few key intellectual property issues at the heart of the case study, as Google was essentially buying a patent portfolio in acquiring Motorola Mobility.
2. Review/Analysis of the Case – (4 pages)
To discuss in details the following questions:
a) What grand strategy did Google use in this case study (horizontal acquisition)?
b) What generic strategies (differentiation)?
c) Did Google execute their strategy well, or do you think they made some mistakes?
d) Why do you think Google would buy Motorola Mobility?
e) What strategic value did Motorola Mobility’s patents have for Google?
3. Conclusion – (0.5 page)
This is the summary of recommendations of the introduction and the review/analysis of the case study.

Must include 5 references and one should be from the class textbook (Strategic Management (Planning for Domestic & Global Competition, 14th Edition by John A. Pearce II and Richard B. Robinson). Also, this includes in-text citations and the in-text citation must be cited on the review/analysis of the case to corroborate the references provided.
