Make notes on the spot.

What other kinds of information circulate in the art? Is the work breaking new ground, either formally or discursively? Next, you should do some research to learn further about the artwork and the artist. BE A DETECTIVE. When was this work produced in their career — early?mid?late? How does this work relate to their overall body of work? Did the artist work inside the academy, or in opposition to tit? Does this work quote or make reference to another artwork? All of your research should be footnoted.
