Description

1. Identify a particular “niche” for an APRN practice.
2. Create a plan for developing APRN practice in the identified “niche” or your fantasy/dream job.  What do you want to be when you grow up?

1. Identify a “niche” for a successful APRN practice. Describe why there is a need for the practice and why an APRN would be suited for the practice.  (This could be a specific site or a practice area).  Who would employ you? (20 points)

2. Describe the issues of employment to address in the interview process with rationale for each issue. (10 points)

3. Identify possible barriers you might face when creating/starting your APRN position. How will you manage these problems/challenges? (20 points)

4. Prepare a “timeline” or “To Do” list for the last 6 months of your MS program, in anticipation of practicing as an APRN. Include when, where and how to apply for state recognition and certification examination(s).  (Appendix) (10 points)

5. Create a job description for this position. (Appendix) (10 points)

6. What might you collaborative practice agreement look like? (Appendix) (10 points)

7. Write your resume to be sent to the site assuming you have graduated and passed the

APRN certification examination. (Appendix) (10 points)

8. Use APA style and list 5-10 references (10 points)

Body of paper:  Identify your niche. Describe practice setting, clients, organization, affiliations, etc…

Identify barriers and tell how you would manage problems.  Mention the issues you

plan to address in your employment interview & give rationale. Have fun with this
