Qustion1. Alice Walker’s short story “Everyday Use” was written at a particular moment in history, when, for the first time, a young generation of black Americans were demonstrating pride in their African roots and attempting to connect to that part of their identity. Alice Walker was herself an activist, but this story is not about the civil rights or black power movements. Rather, it’s about a mother learning to see her two daughters clearly for perhaps the first time.

Question 3 Sets Theory and Categorization of Information – During this week you worked with the main concepts of Set Theory. Choose one newspaper, online journal, or library article that presents results of a survey, poll, or global information and identify the categories used to present the results. Do you think those categories are well defined? Present a different way to organize and categorize the results. How do you think rearranging categories would affect the communication of the article´s conclusions?videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-WgJOnNovg and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myQdsHcwC6w .
Consider the Historical Numeration Systems and methods of computation studied this week. Discuss the relevance of one numeration system and one method of computation from a historical perspective. You may choose from, but are not limited to Egyptian, Chinese, Mayan, Aztec, Guinea, Roman, Greek, Sign Language, Hindu-Arabic, or Computer Languages. You may chose any method of computing or calculating. Explain the numeration system and calculation system, where did it arise, how does it work, what symbols are used, and how much is it used today. Provide a reference for where you received the information for each (numeration and calculation).
Paradoxes – The Chapter 2 Extension includes a discussion on paradoxes. An example of a paradox is, “This statement is false.” If the statement is true then the statement is false. If the statement is false, then it is true. Please watch this video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbfLuwRnvNk Then, comment on and look up more information on two concepts in the video that you learned about paradoxes. Provide website links to the information you researched. Also, present one paradox not covered in the video and explain the historical context and why it is a paradox. Provide a reference for where you found this paradox.
