BOOK: State-Corporate Crime: Wrongdoing at the Intersection of Business and Government. Edited by Raymond J. Michalowski and Ronald C. Kramer.
This paper will be written as a “book review”, which means that the first part of the paper will be a discussion/summary of the article(s) you choose to cover. The second part of the paper will be a critique/analysis of the information in the article(s) given the readings/lectures/discussions in class. The paper should be at least 2000 words.
You will all be responsible for reading chapters 1, 2, and 15 in the book, then choosing one other chapter that represents a specific discussion of state-corporate crime.
Chapters 1, 2, and 15 are chapters that offer a general understanding of state-corporate crime. The chapter you choose will be about a specific state-corporate crime that has been researched. The first (summary) section of the paper should focus heavily on the chapter you have chosen, but can also include a summary discussion of the 3 common chapters everyone has to read. In the second (analysis) section of the paper, you will analyze the chapter you have chosen using the 3 common chapters AND information from our class (lectures/readings/summary posts/podcasts/movies).
