Adapting to change in the workplace can lead to many positive aspects such as innovation, developing new skills, and new growth opportunities (Connor, 2020). Health care is always changing, it is an important skill for health care professionals to be able to adapt to new change when it occurs. I have seen both sides of how people adapt and how others do not bother adapting at all to new changes in our company, I have seen this mostly with employees that have been with our company for years that are resistant to change. They have sunk into their habit of doing things ac certain way, disabling them from considering change. If not everyone is adapting to change their can be negative outcomes, not everyone in the workplace will find it easy to adapt to change, especially when they have been doing something a certain way for years. This is where leadership has to come up with ways to ensure all employees are understanding the importance of change as well as adapting. Providing a meeting with all appropriate employees in discussing the change with allowing open discussion, then providing training. Being consistent and checking in with employees on how they are adapting will ensure proper execution of the change.
