Important Learning Objectives:
- Demonstrate an understanding and use of the vocabulary and phrases associated with discussions of the Baroque in Europe: the philosophy, arts, cultures and religion.
- Identify and discuss the major changes in European Art that distinguishes the Baroque movement.
- Identify and articulate the achievements of the important people and artist of the Baroque.
- Articulate the shifts in the functions of Art in the Baroque; particularly as propaganda for the religious conflicts of Catholics and Protestants, the monarchy, populist government and social reforms.
